about

I’m Chanelle, ex-marketer turned foodie & interior design. I’m so glad you’re here!

“Countess in the Kitchen is the perfect intersection of baking, decorating & elegant indulgence”

How my story began

I used to work the typical 9-5 grind for a stuffy corporate company. And well, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea…

Join me on a journey where we’ll get our hands dirty creating cooking and baking recipes, indulging in one-bowl meals, baking nostalgic treats, and sometimes whipping up fancy desserts.

When I am not in the kitchen I’ll be sharing apartment home decor ideas, building rustic tablescapes, patio gardening, cleaning tips and testing kitchen essentials.

I started Countess in the Kitchen in 2021 as a personal project to challenge my baking and cooking abilities and to share my kitchen creations. The blog has since happily expanded to include interior decorating which included branching into apartment home decor, patio gardening, cleaning and so much more.

As a self-taught baker and cook, I pride myself on well-tested recipes which utilize ingredients accessible to the home cook. On my blog you will find many from-scratch recipes inspired by my family or dreamt up in my own kitchen.

xx Chanelle

Chanelle’s Studio FAQ

I love my Nikon Z7! She is the perfect camera. I also use studio lights as well, giving me more flexibility to shoot.

Helping people create spaces and serve food that is meant to be shared!

Take time and really understand why you want to start a blog. It’s a lot of work, you need to be sure. Start with a word press blog and start publishing :).

There are so many people that inspire me. I love DeVol Kitchens, Nancy Meyers and McGee studio… but I am also infleuced by living in the south for 5 years, I love watching people create spaces that are highly personal, layer and tactile.
